December 2005

Home

Shortly after Thanksgiving, we headed out to a local tree farm to cut our own Christmas tree. We actually picked two trees, one for upstairs that was all crystal and glass ornaments, plus a Blue Spruce tree for downstairs that held all the kids' ornaments. In mid-December, we attended the HoliDazzle parade, sponsored by Marshall Fields department stores. This is a wonderful excuse to stand out on the sidewalk in downtown Minneapolis and slowly freeze to death. (Actually, it was a lot of fun.)

The day after Christmas, Katie and Rachel joined us in Minnesota and stayed through New Year's. All four kids had a blast building snow forts, sledding, and ice skating on the lake.
